Who is Dennis? Why Would a Gay 🏳️🌈Man Become a Latter-day Saint?
I am an openly gay man who feels nothing but love from members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was told my entire life-God rejected me. And was going to hell-merely for my sexual orientation. I needed to change my entire persona-become straight.
This left such a bad taste in my mouth about organized religion in general. I refused to attend any church for many, many years. It was Latter-day Saints who taught me that Heavenly Father loves ALL of His children. Regardless of their sexual orientation. We are all children of God, and we should leave judgment to the Savior. It is not our place.
I am “Elders Quorum First Counselor, Ward Mission Leader,” with only 11 convert baptisms. Fireside and devotional speaker, who is humbly grateful to be a full temple recommend holder.
Working as an LDS Literary Agent 🖊 representing authors. 📚
Please forgive my ignorance, I’ve only been learning about the church for a few months. I am resonating with so much and really felt like this might be the right place for me in my VERY NEW relationship with God and Jesus Christ.
However, I was very surprised to learn that the message of love and inclusion did not fully extend to the gay commute. When I came out to the missionaries who were educating me, it was clear that the message was: “I see you, I love you… But if you (now or in the future) act on your compulsion to be gay, then you can not be a full member of our church.”
In your blog posts, I keep seeing you saying you’re a “full temple recommend holder”. Although I do not really understand what this means, it sounds like you’re saying that you are accepted as a full member of the church. Is that the case? Have you had to forego ever being in a committed same sex marriage to achieve this? I’m just a bit confused. I would like to know more, if you don’t mind my asking.
Respectfully,
Gay/bi woman very interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Thank you for posing your question. Yes, I am a hundred percent gay. And have been my entire life. I am the last person in the world who you would’ve ever expected would’ve joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. what made me resonate, what’s all the persecution the pioneers went through. Please see this video I did for Cedar Fort Publishing and Media
Also, please read some of the reviews, as I’ve been welcomed into the church has an openly gay man with open arms. Also, I work with missionaries around the world, please have them contact me-if you feel comfortable.
Love and Hugs, Dennis
Reviews from members.
Oh wow! I am very relieved to hear this.
Yes, I will ask the missionaries to reach out to you!
The reviews were inspiring.
I look forward to watching the video. Thank you for sharing!
Tina, I am so glad you found this inspirational. That only covers 1% of the tens of thousands of people I connect with within our church. All positive, loving and embracing. However, there still a lot of work I need to do. so, if someone does say something negative, contact myself and remember all the wonderful reviews on Amazon.
Also, the LGBT members who have left the church are the ones to be negative. Again, trun them over to me, and don’t listen to what they have to say.
Love and Hugs, Dennis
